I have been lucky enough to photograph some amazing food recently.

Natural light is best for food shots and Scotland is great for photographing food – sun is too unforgiving and harsh for food photography. Perfect grey and filtered light = Scottish weather!

 

 

Even for product shots I prefer natural light, it’s soft with no harsh shadows and highlights

There are seveal trends at the moment for food photography. One is the shot from above.  see below!

Another trend is dark, moody shots with lots of atmosphere.
