Natural light is best for food shots and Scotland is great for photographing food – sun is too unforgiving and harsh for food photography. Perfect grey and filtered light = Scottish weather!
Even for product shots I prefer natural light, it’s soft with no harsh shadows and highlights

Another trend is dark, moody shots with lots of atmosphere.
